The Cynosure Skintel® Melanin Reader™ precisely determines the melanin density of patient’s skin, aiding providers in choosing appropriate settings to provide optimal treatment results prior to a light-based aesthetic treatment and is inclusive in addressing diverse skin tones.
The Skintel® Melanin Reader™ helps measure the skin’s diffuse reflectance at three unique wavelengths of light, and computes this into a Melanin Index Value for objective measurement of the melanin content of the skin. This innovative technology is especially important when treating the full Fitzpatrick scale.
How It Works: The provider takes three Skintel® measurements on the skin near the area to be treated. Within seconds, Skintel® wirelessly sends real time melanin readings to the system to guide the provider in selecting the most accurate treatment settings.
